Monday happy things {Week 143}

Posted on June 26, 2017 by jenny

Happy Monday! Time for my weekly Monday happy things, sharing the five things which have made me happiest in the previous week.

Last week was good although it started off with my son having two days off school with tummy ache. This seems to be a long term problem and I was happy that the Doctor finally gave him a referral to the Hospital. It’s never nice seeing your child in pain and he’s had a lot of time off school this year. I’m hoping this will be the start of sorting him out.

Luckily he went back to school so I was able to make my last shift at work. I was quite sad to finish but also happy. I proved to myself I could get a job, be on time and learn something new. But I’m also relieved I can go back to being a parent who takes their children to school and picks them up. My son only has 4 weeks left at Infant School and I want to savour every moment.

I went to a meeting at his new Junior school last week. It was exciting to meet his new teachers and see his classroom. The school is lovely and I really want him to settle in easily and be happy there. I came away with a uniform and stationery list. They were very specific about it all being able to fit in a drawer! I found out what House he would be in and have already ordered his PE bag and school tie. I’m going to be super organised this year.

school assembly

My daughter took part in her class assembly which was lovely. They were all so cute and talked about the different subjects they have learned this year. She had one line to say but said it perfectly 🙂 For some reason they are mixing up the classes as they go into Year 1 next year. I think this is a huge shame as her class is great and they all get on really well. She is a becoming a little anxious so I’m hoping she’ll settle well into Year 1 as it’s a massive change from Reception without her being with all her friends.

Yesterday we were invited along to the Despicable Me 3 premiere in Leicester Square. My children love the franchise and it was a great film. I’ll be writing a little more about it later today. We had a fun day out in London, visiting the Lego Store and the M&M shop.

    I’m glad that your son has been referred so he can hopefully get the help he needs to stop being in pain! My 3 year old nanny charge (almost 4) met his new preschool teacher too – he will be starting at the pre-school at the school he will be attending next September. He got his very own book bag like his big brother. It’s exciting but also worrying!

    I hope your son gets a diagnosis soon so you can sort out that tummy ache. It’s awful when they’re poorly isn’t it? xxx

    I’m glad your son has got a referral at least you can try and get to the bottom of why he’s been getting ill. So jealous that you were at the minions premiere, I really want to see the new movie x
