Monday happy things {Week 132}

Posted on April 10, 2017April 10, 2017 by jenny

I love the school holidays as they give everyone a real chance to relax. The weather has been amazing and we’ve had some great family adventures this week! Time for my weekly post about my 5 favourite things from the previous seven days.

Monday happy things {Week 132}

The lighter evenings have been very welcome and my husband has been coming home from work a little earlier too. On Monday we went to our local woods after dinner for a walk. The light was just perfect and the children played with their model car and kicked a football around for a bit. It certainly helped them sleep well that night.

We had a few quite days at home. The amazing weather meant the children have been playing indoors and outside. It’s so lovely to see how happy and relaxed they are during the school holidays. They both love school but are almost like different people outside of our normal routine. They have been re-discovering all their toys, having water fights, playing hide and seek together and having loads of fun.

We did manage a few days out. On Wednesday we ventured to East London and Wilton’s Music Hall to see Silver Electra, a brand new opera about Amelia Earhart. I’ve always wanted to visit Wilton’s and it was just as special as I thought it would be. The children were beautifully behaved throughout the opera and we all had a great experience. You can read our review of the performance here.

On Friday the whole family ventured out again, this time to the O2 London for Star Wars: Identities. We are all huge fans of Star Wars and this is a fantastic show featuring 200 original costumes, props, models, and pieces of artwork from the films. It was really well laid out and I only wish I could go again without my adorable children. They didn’t want to read the exhibition labels or listen to the audio guide!

We’ve had a few guests visiting lately but we managed to put up the new blind in our spare room. It’s so lovely to finish a room – although the DIY feels never ending.

    The weather has been lovely and it sounds like you made the most of it. I will mention the Star Wars show to my brother. He might like to go.

    DIY never seems to finish. I know what you mean, the finishing touches go on. As the weather for the half term has been dry, looks as though you’ve taken advantage and got out x
