The weather has been a little wet and wild lately which means I’m thankful I write this weekly post to remind myself of the good things that have happened.
I bought the latest copy of Pretty Patches. Although I resolved to buy less magazines in 2015 and stop my expensive subscriptions I saw a few projects I would like to try in this issue.
I’ve added a new limited edition Orla Kiely print jute shopper from Tesco to my collection. Now, I definitely didn’t need another shopping bag but I really like this print. The bags are strong, I have a few now and they just seem to go on and on. I think this design is called Primrose and the yellow, black and white are a great combination for Winter and Spring.
An unexpected trip to Exeter meant a stay in a beautiful City central hotel. Making a last minute booking actually worked in our favour as we were given a room which actually had room for all four of us. No washing up or having to worry about wet towels on the floor made for a nice weekend away.
Charity shopping resulted in a vintage Scrabble set, vintage Kan-U-Go set of playing cards and a new-to-me vintage London bus to add to my collection. I’m looking forward to crafting with the game pieces soon and maybe even putting them in my neglected Etsy shop.
Planning a mud kitchen as the result of reading The Playful Parent. We already have a spare pallet and some scaffolding planks so I think it should be pretty easy to make the children a mud kitchen. I love the idea of them spending more time outside and think it could be fun to source some second hand equipment for it.
