Hello everyone. Another extraordinary week in my household. We started the week with my husband being discharged from hospital but unfortunately he was back in within 24 hours. I’ve had another busy week juggling hospital visits and childcare but I’m pleased to say my husband is back home again. I’m not sure how so much was achieved with so much going on in the last 7 days.
My 6 year old had his final Beavers session of the term. He received 4 new badges for his jumper from all the activities they have been taking part in – these are already stitched on! They ended their final session with an amazing water fight. You can never count on the weather but fortunately it was the hottest day of the year, perfect for soaking themselves with water pistols.
My daughter had her last day of Nursery and and my son had his last day of Year 1. This school year has flown by and they have both worked hard and got great reports. I think they were both pleased to throw their school clothes in the clothes basket for one last time.
I was invited to a really lovely Tablescaping event with Ikea. I hadn’t heard of Tablescaping before but it’s the art decorating a tabletop with a variety of pretty items to make it visually appealing but useful too. It was so much fun and I got a sneak preview of the new Autumn/Winter collection too. I’ll be writing a full post about it soon.
I couldn’t quite believe that after finishing school we had one last karate lesson. It felt like everything had finished but we had one important thing to do. Both children were able to wear their gi for the first time and got graded too, earning their first belt. So many proud mummy moments this week!
On Saturday we received an invitation to see the new Swallows and Amazons film. It was beautiful and I now want to re-read the book and visit the Lake District. You can read my review of Swallows and Amazons here.
