I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write. Life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few months but we’re beginning to see a little more fun in our week. As the UK is no longer in lockdown I’m reverting back to the original title of this weekly post.
Monday Happy List {Week 301}
We enjoyed our last week of home learning. It was a bit of a strange week as I had to go into the office a few times so school work had to fit around that. We concentrated on Maths and English and did a few fun Science experiments. The last week of term is usually so much fun but it felt quite hard to mark the end of the most unusual school year. Most of our online classes have now finished for the term but I’m hoping that Cubs will continue. We also have our weekly Karate lessons to look forward to.
With the country slowing opening up we enjoyed a proper shopping trip and had lunch in Five Guys. It felt so strange to go shopping but the shops were really quiet and it was easy to socially distance. I wanted some new clothes for myself but ended up buying new clothes for the children and bought all their stationery supplies for September in Smiggle! We had the most amazing lunch in Five Guys although it felt weird to be in a restaurant after so many months of not eating out. I’m not sure we’re going to be rushing to eat out again but at least we’ve done it.
On Saturday we were lucky to get tickets to the world’s first drive-in airshow at Shuttleworth Old Warden. We visit the Shuttleworth Collection quite often but with so many airshows cancelled this year we didn’t think we would go. We bought tickets as soon as they were announced and met up with some friends for the day. The event was so well organised and we had a huge space for our car and could sit outside the car to watch the show. We took picnic blankets and chairs and had such a lovely afternoon watching the airshow including the special NHS Spitfire.
We’ve been sent some lovely toys to review recently which we’re so grateful for. Our favourites have been the board game Rockpool, the new Jigsaw Puzzles for Rebel Girls and a selection of the new Oh! My Gif toys. I’m looking forward to a lot more play time over the summer holidays. My daughter has been playing with her Sylvanian Families a lot and my son has been making lots of Lego stop motions.
Yesterday we went to our local Farmers Market again. It’s a lovely summery set up in the orchard at Manor Farm, Ruislip. We stocked up on some delicious food and bought the dog some treats too! He loves his new bib and cushion. We are going to eat so well this week!
Have a great week everyone.

July 21, 2020 at 11:51 amI need to see if there’s a farmers market near me when I move as I love those foodie markets. Sounds like a nice week, I bet it was odd going back to work for little bits x
