I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I love to write.
Monday Happy List {Week 283}
The last week has been pretty crazy. It’s been hard to hide from the news as it’s all anyone has been talking about. My husband’s office has been closed for the foreseeable future and we’re waiting to hear when the school I work at will be closed, along with the children’s school. My anxiety levels are pretty high at the moment, as I’m sure they are with many people.
Thankfully our routine was pretty normal considering what was going on. The kids went to school and their normal clubs, having fun at Cubs and karate. They both had a pretty gruelling week of assessments so it was lovely to have a quiet weekend to relax.
I finished some handmade gifts for my son’s 10th birthday on Wednesday. He loves Star Wars so I bought some Star War svg’s to customise a notebook for him. I love using my Cricut and customised a money box with a vinyl ‘Origami Fund’ sticker as he is obsessed with crafting origami. He is so excited about his birthday so we’re going to make it special as we can for him.
Our garden is really coming to life at the moment. We have a gorgeous cherry tree in our garden and the blossom is just starting to come out. I really love this time of year and can’t wait for the days to get a little warmer. My daughter and I planted some sunflower seeds and we’re nurturing them on the kitchen windowsill. Each year our sunflowers are a little more successful so perhaps this will be the year that they really grow.
Yesterday we visited our local Farmer’s Market in Ruislip. We’re practicing social distancing but wanted to support our local businesses. All our favourite stalls were there so we were able to buy the most amazing lunch of fresh bread, hummous and cheese, with brownies for afters! I expect that might be the last market for a while.
Have a great week everyone and stay safe.
