Monday Happy List {Week 282}

Posted on March 9, 2020 by jenny

I love to start the week by writing theย Monday Happy List. Itโ€™s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures โ€“ itโ€™s a post I love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 282}

As a family of book worms we just love World Book Day. This year the children took their favourite non-fiction book to school and we were all relieved they didn’t have to dress up. The Secondary school where I work held a scavenger hunt for our KS3 students. All the staff wore something which gave a nod to their favourite literary character and the students had to work it out. I wore my favourite Tatty Devine gingerbread house necklace! My daughter took part in a World Book Day quiz at our local library which she enjoyed.

My eldest child was off school last week which meant I spent a day at home with him. I took the opportunity to work on my Shipping Forecast quilt. I sandwiched the quilt layers together and quilted the Shipping Forecast lines on it. I was going to use the backing fabric to bind it but it hasn’t quite worked out so I’m going to order some binding this week to finish it off.

Do you think that Spring is on the way? We spent quite a lot of time in the garden over the weekend. I cut the grass for the first time this year and the children insisted we put their Swing ball game back up. They were so happy hitting the tennis ball round and round, although it freaked the puppy out.

On Saturday we took our puppy to Dog School London for our third session. He was slightly more relaxed this time as we had already taken the children to Kids Run Free in the morning and he had got to explore the park. He was still very excited to be there though. We learned lots of new tips and tricks to work on with his this week.

The puppy has a big personality. Over the weekend he started digging up the lawn and made a big mess and got quite dirty. We decided to give the puppy a bath and he was really tiny under all that fluff! He didn’t really enjoy the bath but we had to get him clean. He made such a mess all over the bathroom! We wrapped him in a towel and dried him with the hair drier but it took hours for his coat to dry out fully.

Have a great week everyone.

    Looks like you had a really great week. Mine was just the regular stuff, nothing extraordinary, but still thankful for the blessings we received!

    I remember those days of drying the dog with the hair dryer, would take forever! Cheeky little monkey digging in the garden though! It was so lovely to get out and about towards the end of last week, Spring is definitely just around the corner! ๐Ÿ™‚ Sim x

    So wonderful that you managed to head to the garden and spend some time there enjoying the sun, I managed to do some gardening as well and hope more warm sunny days are coming our way.

    That photo of your puppy made me smile! I got out in the garden this week for the first time, just for a bit of tidying up but it definitely lifted my spirits

    Our school celebrated World Book Day for the first time this year and it was so much fun to be involved.
