I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday Happy List {Week 272}
The first week of our Christmas holidays has flown by. We all had a lovely time on Christmas Day and the kids were pleased with their presents. This year we had a new Christmas Eve Box which was slightly bigger and able to hold some lovely treats. The children received new pyjamas, and the whole family received a pair of fluffy socks and a personalised gingerbread biscuit to enjoy.
This was the first year in a long time that my son hadn’t asked for a new Lego set for Christmas. He usually spends Christmas Day building his new set so it was strange not having him do this. My daughter really wanted some special Pokemon cards, a Pokemon onesie and Pokemon Monopoly so it was lovely seeing her open these and enjoy them. They both got a Fitbit so have been busy running around wearing them, trying to get more steps than the other.
I tried to cut down on unwanted gifts this Christmas and was pleased to receive things I really wanted. It’s so easy to spend more than you can afford so I was pleased with my gifts which included some Tatty Devine jewellery and a large Orla Kiely ceramic linear stem lantern. I also asked for some crafty items which I can enjoy whilst I make them. I’ve already made a start on the cross stitch project which came with the Winter Craftpod box. I also received a Dropcloth Sampler from Rebecca Ringquist which I have lusted after for ages. I love having a few projects to work on over winter. My final gift was a lovely MAKER hanging sign from modo which I’ve already hung up in our dining room where I use my sewing machine and Cricut Maker.
We’ve had plenty of family time over the week and had a few trips to the cinema. We watched both Cats and Little Women which were wildly different but good. I hadn’t seen the Cats musical or read any of the books by Louisa May Alcott, but found both films entertaining.
Despite long days spent inside we’ve managed to get outside too. We’ve had some decent weather and been out for a few walks, especially around Westbury White Horse. We took out our RC car which handled all the muddy puddles although my daughter mostly jumped in them!
Have a great week everyone and hApPy NeW YeAr.

December 30, 2019 at 9:06 pmSounds like a wonderful week, we have spent the past few days doing nothing in particular and it’s been great. Our weekends are usually so busy so it’s been nice to just relax, build lego, playmobil and play games.

January 2, 2020 at 1:40 pmMy boyfriend always used to get lego as well, it’s such a good way to keep people occupied on Christmas Day so I understand why it must have felt weird. I want to go and see Little women as I loved the book x
