I have another hoop to show. I’m loving embroidery at the moment and couldn’t resist the modern bike kit hoop by Stella Caraman which came with the latest issue of Love Embroidery magazine.
Modern bicycle hoop
I love a cover craft kit and I knew I had to get my hands on this issue. It’s actually quite hard to get hold of Love Embroidery where I live so I’ve taken out a subscription to make sure I get all the issues!
The craft kit contained a pre-printed cotton panel featuring a bicycle with a front and back basket full of pretty flowers. There was embroidery thread and a pretty pink embroidery hoop.
I pressed the pre-printed panel before placing it between the rings of the embroidery hoop, then followed the instructions. There were a variety of stitches which included backstitch, colonial knots, fly stitch, fishbone stitch, lazy daisy stitch, long and short stitch, satin stitch, seed stitch, split stitch and weave stitch.
Pre-printed panels make embroidery super simple and fun to stitch. It meant I could stitch this hoop over a few days and I loved trying some new-to-me stitches. It’s a pretty hoop and something a little different for me but makes a great addition to my hoop collection.
I’ve added a little list over there in my sidebar of all the sewing projects I want to complete this year. I’ve made a pretty good start but I thought it would help if I wrote down what I wanted to make. I really don’t need to buy any more embroidery hoops so I’m hoping to use up the ones I have before I even think about buying more. So far this year I’ve finished a few hoops so fingers crossed this little list will help me keep me focussed.
