Making Concrete Pots, Bowls, and Platters by Hester van Overbeek

Making Concrete Pots, Bowls, and Platters by Hester van Overbeek

Posted on February 7, 2017 by jenny

Making Concrete Pots, Bowls, and Platters is the third book by Hester van Overbeek, you can read my review of Furniture Hacks here.

In this book, you will find everything you need to make a range of unique concrete projects. The comprehensive techniques section explains what type of concrete to buy, how to use it and how to decorate it. You will also learn how to mix, cast and mould concrete.

From there you can put this knowledge into action to make chic home accessories such as upside-down plant pots, a concrete bowl with a wooden base, serving platters, a letter-shaped bookend, fruit bowls and much more.

My husband doesn’t normally touch my craft books but he has read this book! We both enjoyed learning all about crafting with concrete. The 35 projects are divided into sections for gardening & outdoors, food & entertaining, and display & gift. There are some lovely ideas and the book makes me feel like I want to create something for our home. We have already been out looking for concrete but I have to admit we were a little blown away by the choice at our local DIY store.

Making Concrete Pots, Bowls, and Platters by Hester van Overbeek is published today by CICO Books priced £12.99. I have kindly been given a code which will get you a 20% discount off the RRP of Hester’s book on MAKEetc.com. Just enter code CONCRETE20 at the checkout at https://makeetc.com/
