Did you watch any episodes of the Great Interior Design Challenge? I love that programme and watched every episode. I love seeing how the different designers met the brief and how they transformed the different styles of houses. I was waiting for them to design a 1990s house but funnily enough that didn’t happen.
We are really struggling with ideas for our house. I’m not sure if these programmes are a good idea or not. On the one hand they inspire me to want to have a beautiful home. On the other hand, they make me feel inadequate that I don’t have the money or skills to have an interior suitable of the standard shown on the programme.
Stuck somewhere between inspired and frustrated I’ve done what plenty of others must have done. Turned to Pinterest and created an Ideas for our Home board of course! Looking through my Pins you can see my style is modern vintage. We won’t change any of our furniture but we’re looking to introduce more lighting, change the hideous fireplace and paint the walls. I have lots of idea, I just need some help pulling them all together.
One thing that’s top of my list is a bright lamp, not just to add some ambience but also so I can re-instate my sewing corner which has been sacrificed to make way for the Christmas tree.
We currently have twinkly lights all over the house so I need to make sure we sort something out soon. January can sometimes feel a little blue after the build up to Christmas. What a great excuse to hit the shops in the January Sales!
