Laser hair therapy is very different from the other physical therapies and cosmetic treatments that you undergo. No, you are not just removing body hair from different parts of your body; it’s a bit more than that. No more wasting time in the salon and buying expensive waxing strips because visiting a laser hair removal specialists can give you a life-changing experience. If you are new to this field and have no knowledge, here is a definitive guide for you.

Laser Hair Removal: A Definitive Guide For Beginners

Shave the area before taking laser

Patients are asked to shave their skin a day before visiting their dermatologist. If some areas are harder to reach, your doctors can help you. But, it is recommended to shave the part before applying rays. In the case of facial hair, you can go for trimming if you are not happy with shaving.

No waxing in between appointments

After one session is done and you are given a date for the next session, do not opt for waxing or tweezing in the middle of the two appointments. The point of getting a laser ray is that it targets the hair pigments. If there is no hair, the beams will not work. In each appointment, the laser targets for a significant amount of hair as the growth cycle differs.

No makeup on your face

If you are going for facial hair treatment, there should not be any makeup on your skin. Whether it is morning dewy makeup or night makeup, there should not be any products on the skin. Sometimes dermatologists use alcohol pads to ensure all makeup comes off the skin. Keeping products on the skin can only harm you. The presence of foundation can burn your skin and change the colour of the pigment. Listen to your dermatologists because they know what is best for you.

Choose a certified dermatologist

People opting for laser therapy should make note that the procedure is not simple and involves a lot of risks and side effects. If you choose an inexperienced provider, there are chances of getting your skin burnt and change in pigmentation. The wisest solution is to go to a seasoned laser hair removal specialists. Besides giving peace of mind, your money does not go to waste. In the end, you get satisfactory results as well. You may need fewer follow-up sessions as well.

Do not compare the result

If you are trying your first time at the laser, you should realise that the results may not be the same for each body part. The coarse, thick hair of bikini or armpits may be gone after 5 sittings, but things may not be the same in the case of upper lips. There will always be hair follicles present and that can be reduced over time.

For beginners, there is no need to be scared because laser is the most simple and minimally invasive procedure. Make sure that you get the best hands in the industry so that you don’t regret choosing laser treatment over waxing or threading.
