Last week I told you about the special gifts we had been sent to wrap for the Honeypot’s Children’s charity, which is the only charity in the UK who provide consistent respite support for young carers, aged between 5 and 12. This Christmas Sellotape is donating festive gifts for vulnerable children and young carers at the Honeypot Children’s Charity and sharing the magic of giving.
They asked me to get involved with wrapping a couple of gifts so last week we carved our own stamps and hand stamped festive trees on brown paper on one of the gifts. Today we wrapped our second gift and the children loved helping me make our own confetti tape to decorate the brown paper.
The item we were wrapping was a little awkward so Little Sis helped me wrap it in bubble wrap then a layer of brown paper.
She was so keen to help, and she cut the paper from the roll and loved using the Sellotape dispenser.
Then we made our own paper confetti by using a hole punch on lots of coloured and brown card. This kept the children occupied for ages 🙂
When we had a selection of green, yellow, red, blue and brown confetti we started to create our own confetti tape and made the shape of a tree on the front of our wrapped present. My 5 year old took different lengths of sellotape and gently pressed it over the punched card. Then placed each piece of tape on the parcel.
We added more strips of sellotape around our confetti strips to keep all the paper circles in place. Big Brother added a yellow strip at the top of our tree for a star and a trunk at the bottom.
The finished present looks really colourful and I hope the recipient enjoys opening it.
