Handmade heavenlies

I’ve been busy participating in lots of fun swaps lately and received the most amazing swap parcel as part of the International Craft Swap from Gina. I asked her to make Edward a personalised muslin as he loves a small muslin square to hold whilst he goes to sleep. She completely surpassed what I expected and made him a beautiful quilt which features a giraffe (his favourite animal) and his name. As soon as he saw it he realised it was for him and he’s been snuggling under it on the sofa and wrapping it around himself – very cute.

Not only did Gina send me the quilt for Edward, she also made a lovely fleecy blanket with teething rings for the Second Baby in unisex colours.

There were still more handmade items in the box! A lovely bag to hold my craft supplies and a scarf! Gina thanks so much, you were so generous and thoughtful and the items are all beautifully made.

I’m almost embarrassed to say I made some handmade baby items for my swap partner whose baby was due a couple of months after the swap deadline. I appliqued a onesie with some of my favourite Cath Kidston fabric.

I also made some cute bibs and a rattle (both patterns from Bend the Rules Sewing).

Wow these are lovely! Still trying to get to grips with threading the needle in my hand-me-down sewing machine… *sigh*
