Gifts for creative kids {Wicked Uncle review}

With my son’s birthday coming up you can imagine I have been quizzing him about what he wanted. He’s a creative boy with enough Lego sets to start his own toy shop. So this year I’ve been having a good look around for something a bit different.

I’ve mentioned Wicked Uncle before. It’s an online toy shop with a difference. Their aim is to make it really easy for Wicked Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, Godparents, and anyone else who fancies, to find the perfect present for an occasion. Their site is simple and brilliant at the same time, with so many ways to search that whether you know a child well or not, the perfect gift is just minutes in the choosing.

Anyway, this month Wicked Uncle are highlighting their great collection of toys for children who love being creative. They kindly let me pick a couple of things for my son. I went to their homepage and searched by age and the ‘creativity’ category and found pages of suggestions which were perfect. The only hard part was what to choose as I knew he would love everything.

Light Stax Building Blocks

Eventually I settled on the Light Stax Building Blocks. Light Stax are illuminated construction blocks that use LED technology and stack like traditional building blocks. The set contains 36 individual coloured building blocks and can be set to solid light, flashing or gentle fading. This is a great kit which can be made again, and again, and again.

Grow Your Own Insect Eating Plants

I also chose the Grow Your Own Insect Eating Plants. My son has been trying to get his Gardening badge at Beavers and he loves little gardening projects like this. The set contains packets of Venus Flytrap and Pitcher Plant seeds, together with a bug eating booklet with bug based puzzles – perfect gifts for creative kids like my son.

Wicked Uncle have loads of kits to build everything from dinosaurs to jewellery. They have Umbrellas and Pyjamas you can draw on. They have baking bread in flowerpots or making London out of chocolate. You name it, they probably have it!

    I hear such a lot of good things about the Wicked Uncle site and now I can see why – what great choices. I think I would like those light up blocks for myself, never mind a child.
