Bedfordshire days out

Frubes sleepover at Whipsnade Zoo

The highlight of our Summer holidays so far has definitely been the amazing Frubes sleepover at Whipsnade Zoo we took part in last week. Our family, and lots of other bloggers and their families, were invited to a sleepover at Whipsnade Zoo to celebrate Frubes’ partnership with the Minions movie.

#Frubessleepover at Whipsnade ZooWhen we arrived at Whipsnade Zoo we were taken to our accommodation, a gorgeous little “log pile house” according to my 5 year old. Can you tell he knows The Gruffalo off by heart? It was actually called Hippo Lodge and our home for the night.

#Frubessleepover at Whipsnade ZooInside was a comfy double bed and a fold out sofa bed for the children. It had also been decorated with lots of Minions products including cushions, fleece blankets and a little night light which the children loved. We had kept our trip a surprise so it was great to see them so excited by everything.

#Frubessleepover at Whipsnade ZooAfter we had unpacked we went on a guided Minion Zoo Hunt treasure hunt around Whipsnade Zoo parkland. We learned about lots of the animals whilst looking for the Frubes signs hidden around the different enclosures.

#Frubessleepover at Whipsnade ZooOur last stop was the restaurant but guess who was waiting for us there? Only Kevin, Bob and Stuart from the Minions film which we saw earlier in the holidays. The children were so happy to meet them and have their photograph taken with them.

Then it was time for a delicious dinner where we were able to try the new limited edition banana flavour Frubes, to celebrate Frubes’ partnership with the Minions movie and because Minions love bananas. With calcium and vitamin D for strong bones the Frubes range taste great and are the ideal snack for days out, especially as they keep for up to 8 hours out of the fridge. There was also a torch lit walk around Whipsnade Zoo before heading back to our cabins for bed.

The next morning we were up bright and early for breakfast followed by accompanying the zoo keepers to help them feed some of the animals. We fed the chimps, wild boar, brown bears and penguins whilst hearing about which nutrients help mammals develop strong and healthy bones and all the important work Whipsnade Zoo do with the animals.

Frubes sleepover

That was our zoo experience over with and we were sent home with boxes of delicious Frubes, including the special edition banana flavoured ones and Minions goody bags for the children. We were allowed to spend the rest of the day exploring the zoo and watched some of the special shows and let the children play on the outdoor play area before heading home. We had an amazing experience at Whipsnade Zoo, met lots of lovely animals and enjoyed plenty of Frubes to keep us going.

Don’t forget Frubes has launched its biggest ever on-pack promotion, offering the chance to win thousands of Minions prizes each month. Over 10m packs of Frubes will contain free Minion Vision Goggles which reveal hidden messages on the pack, and show how you can win Minions prizes. The goggles also reveal jokes on the tubes, there’s so much fun to be had for your whole family!
