Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 7/2025}
Last week I managed two trips to the cinema, first to see Dog Man with the kids (who both loved the books when they were younger), followed by a trip to watch Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy with a friend. I really enjoyed the new Bridget Jones film, although it did make me cry a little too!
We love winter lights so popped over to London Westfield to see Here We Glow. It features eight stunning, interactive light installations so you get a good number of steps in as you walk to find them all. The shopping centre is open quite late so it’s a fun evening if you go for some shopping and food too.
I finished two books last week, I finally finished reading The Queen of Fives by Alex Hay (2/35) which was really good, followed by Mrs Miniver by Jan Struther (3/35). I have my fingers crossed this means I’m out of my reading slump as I have a huge pile of books I want to read.
Over the weekend popped to the Design Museum in Holland Park to see The World of Tim Burton. My husband is a huge fan of his films and this was a great opportunity to see his original drawings, as well as film props and costumes from his films.
We finished our busy week with lunch at the Hawksmoor steak restaurant in Knightsbridge, which we thought was a great way to start the half term celebrations – half way through the school year already!
Hope you’ve had a great week too.

February 18, 2025 at 3:42 pmI do love Tim Burton films too. I didn’t know the Design Museum had an exhibition showing film props etc from his films. Sounds like it would be interesting.
