Five Happy Things

Five Happy Things {Week 6/2025}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 6/2025}

Scored a brand new and unopened Laurence King puzzle in my local charity shop. I’ve been working my way through The World of puzzles range and was excited to spot The World of Hercule Poirot for a few pounds. I love a puzzle in the winter months and as soon as my husband has finished using my puzzle board I will be starting this one.

Still been de-cluttering which is surprisingly satisfying. I’ve sold a number of items on Vinted and just love how quick and easy it is to send these off. My son spent my balance on some new clothes so it was win win. I dismantled a shelving unit we’ve had for years and taken it off to the rubbish dump (there was no way it could be recycled by someone else). It’s made our living space feel larger which is great.

I’ve been working hard on my family history research and finished the first stage of tidying and saving my historical documents. This has been such a satisfying project and now all my research is saved and backed up, in alphabetical order and so much easier to access. This has taken me a year, just spending a few hours each week on it. Hopefully I can cancel my Ancestry membership and save some more pennies now.

Tried a new local cafe on our weekend dog walk. We tend to go to the same spaces so ventured a little further as we found a dog-friendly cafe. It was a fun spot to sit and enjoy a coffee after a brisk walk around the common.

Bouquet in a Book by Prudence Rogers

I received a copy of the Bouquet in a Book by Prudence Rogers to review from David & Charles. It has pre-punched pages to press out and make. It looks like my kind of book and I can’t wait to spend some time crafting this week.

    Decluttering is the most fun you can legally have, if you ask me. I especially love it when I’m really clearing out a packed space.

    I would go to that cafe just on the off chance that I might run into your pooch! Adorable.

    Love this little dose of positivity! It’s so nice to pause and appreciate the happy moments each week. Thanks for sharing—such a great reminder to find joy in the little things! Also… that PUPPY FACE needs some squishes 💕

    My household really needs a big declutter! I feel like we have so much stuff and I am not sure if we even look at most of it.

    Finding a brand-new puzzle at a charity shop is definitely a win, especially one from The World of series. Decluttering always feels amazing!

    The book looks so interesting. My mamma love flowers so I would like to get that for her.

    I bought a 3D puzzle like a year ago but never had time to start putting it together. Winter is the best time for indoor puzzles and board games….

    Decluttering (esp when you can sell items on) is so satisfying, I’m doing through our whole house as we speak. What a good find with the puzzle, I love it when you can get a good charity shop find x

    My husband is so into researching about his family history, too. Him and his brother. I think it is pretty interesting and exciting.

    I love decluttering, it is so satisfying, especially after you take a look after you’ve finished!
