Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the little or big things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures.
Five Happy Things {Week 52/2025}
Each year my husband bakes a chocolate yule log. This year he made it into a Stick Man chocolate yule log which looked amazing and tasted good too. We’ve already planned next years one.
We made our annual trip to view The Gingerbread City at Coal Drops Yard in London. This is an annual exhibition of gingerbread buildings organised by the Museum of Architecture. We try and visit every year and enjoy seeing what people have created from gingerbread.
I managed to visit the Lee Miller exhibition at Tate Britain. With around 250 vintage and modern prints, including those never previously displayed, the exhibition reveals Miller’s poetic vision and fearless spirit. I recently watched the film Lee with Kate Winslet, which was amazing and well worth a watch.
This year I took part in the 2025 Goodreads Reading Challenge where I set a target of 35 books to read throughout the year. I managed 23 books and currently have two more on the go. I bought a lot more books than I read, so next year I’m going to enjoy reading just as much, but lower my target slightly.
What would make it onto your ‘Happy List’ today? I’d love to hear your highlights!
