Five Happy Things {Week 501}

Posted on May 20, 2024 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 501}

I started the week by binge watching Season 3 of Bridgerton. I couldn’t help it even though I had read the books and knew what was going to happen. Everyone needs a little escapism now and then. It was pretty good, just a shame we have to wait a month for the next four episodes to drop. Thankfully the Great British Sewing Bee starts this week so I have that to look forward to whilst I do some slow stitching with this sweet cover gift from Love Embroidery magazine.

My daughter had a fun weekend away at Scout camp. She tried lots of camp craft activities and went to a water park for a wake boarding session. She said she enjoyed it – I thought she was very brave as I would not be able to try this! She slept for 12 hours when she got home so there must have been a few late nights!

My son is also away on a school trip to Spain. The house was very quiet without the kids around over the weekend but we spent lots of time in the garden and managed to painted our daughter’s bedroom for her. She decided she has grown out of the gorgeous wallpaper she has so we painted over it whilst she decides what colour she wants next.

Over the weekend we watched Wicked Little Letters, based on a true story of a local community receiving anonymous naughty letters in the 1920s. It was a fun film which we both enjoyed watching.

Make a Vision Board: A Manifesting Collage Book by CanDace Johnson

I’ve been reading Make a Vision Board: A Manifesting Collage Book by CanDace Johnson which is published by Laurence King Publishing later this month. Collage is always fun and I can’t wait to share more of this lovely book.

Have a great week!

    Oof, the quiet house hits hard. Our kids are gone. Like moved out and not living with us anymore. Sometimes, I really hate that quiet. I miss all the yelling!

    This blog post beautifully highlights the joy of reflecting on happy moments from the past week. Your tradition of writing the Happy List is heartwarming and inspiring. Binge-watching Season 3 of Bridgerton sounds like the perfect escape, and the anticipation for the next episodes is something many can relate to. It’s wonderful to hear about your daughter’s adventurous weekend at Scout camp and her bravery in trying new activities. The upcoming Great British Sewing Bee sounds like a delightful way to relax and enjoy some slow stitching. Here’s to finding happiness in the little moments!

    Omgosh I just started the third season of B and I’m so excited to see what’s in store this season! The stitching looks fabulous and fun! I’ve been quite interested now to learn more about it.

    It sounds like your daughter had a great (and tiring) time away and I am sure your son is having a great trip too. I haven’t actually watched Bridgerton! I must be in the minority, I need to try it out!
