Five Happy Things {Week 5/2025}

Posted on February 2, 2025February 3, 2025 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 5/2025}

We did some major decluttering this weekend. I don’t know how we have so much stuff but every shelf and drawer seems to be overflowing. I’ve been ruthless and taken bags to the local tip as well as the charity shops. Hopefully someone else will be able to enjoy the toys and puzzles the kids have grown out of.

As part of my February Spring Clean I’ve listed a lot of items on Vinted. I’ve been buying second hand clothes for a while so it seemed sensible to sell some of my things especially as I’ve lost so much weight recently. I sold a couple of things the same day I listed them, so I need to keep up the momentum and keep decluttering.

felt key

I finished making a little felt lovely for the Benzie Design Valentine Exchange. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to make but I found a free tutorial from Nuvolina Handmade for a felt key and made one for my partner.

Over the weekend we watched The Wild Robot which is a really beautiful animation directed by Chris Sanders. I really enjoy watching films and this is definitely one of my new favourites. Have you watched it yet?

I’ve been reading The Queen of Fives by Alex Hay which I’m enjoying but I’m already beginning to feel like I’m behind my reading target for the month. It’s so hard not to compare yourself to other people when they post photos of the piles of book they’ve read.

    What a great job. This is really dope. When I think of February, I mostly think of celebrating romantic love, but it’s so much more than that. Thanks for the reminder!

    Well done on doing so much decluttering. I did a little to and we donated some to our schools happy bag collection. It’s good to get rid of items the kids have grown out of every so often.

    I love that you’re making progress with your decluttering and selling things on Vinted and it’s such a great way to clear space while giving things a second life! Also, The Wild Robot sounds like a lovely film, I’ll have to check it out soon!

    I said I was going to declutter last month but here we are in February and it hasn’t happened yet! I’ve also heard good things about the movie The Wild Robut but I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll add it to my list, thanks for sharing!

    Appreciating the little things each week makes a difference. It’s a nice reminder to find joy in everyday moments.

    I am going to be decluttering soon, too. We’ll see what we are going to donate and what we are going to sell on the marketplace.
