Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 485}

Benzie Design Valentine Exchange

Navigating January, often considered a challenging month, requires resilience and a positive mindset. As the winter chill persists, embracing small joys becomes crucial. Embrace self-care rituals, be it cozy evenings with a book or invigorating walks in nature.

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 485}

January is usually a month where we spend a lot of time at home doing things to our home. This January has been all about our family bathroom which is the only room in the house we hadn’t decorated since we moved in 10 years ago. We decided to do most of the work ourselves so ripped out the old bathroom and tiles. Last week we had the new bath installed and put the floor tiles down. Over the weekend we managed to get the toilet in. It’s all taking a lot longer than we thought but we’re hoping to get the sink in this week.

After the fun I had with the Benzie Holiday Ornament Exchange 2023 I signed up for the 2024 Benzie Design Valentine Exchange! it took me a while to find something but I found a sweet little Valentine felt bear designed by What a Curly Life.

Godmersham Park by Gill Hornby

I’ve been trying to not spend too much in January so was happy to find a copy of Godmersham Park by Gill Hornby in a charity shop. I love anything related to Jane Austen so was happy to find this. I finished it and have ordered a (used!) copy of another book by the author, Miss Austen.

Last week I tried candle painting for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I love to try new crafts alongside my favourites and I decorated some candles for Valentine’s Day and Spring. I’m going to write about this fun craft soon.

The weather was amazing over the weekend so we enjoyed a lovely walk in Cliveden woodlands. I know we’re still in the depths of winter but we really needed to get out in the winter sunshine. The weather was sunny but cold and we all loved a much-needed walk and the Vitamin D.

Have a fun week!

    The Benzie Design Valentine Exchange sounds like such a heartwarming way to spread joy, and that Valentine felt bear is adorable.

    A busy month indeed – love the little bear. Looking forward to seeing photos of your bathroom upgrade (maybe I can get some ideas as mine is looking quite outdated!).
