Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 480}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write and look back over.

Five Happy Things {Week 480}

Finished reading The Gingerbread Christmas Village by Kiley Dunbar. I wanted something Christmassy to read and this ticked all the boxes. It was a nice and easy to read and brought me closer to my target of reading 35 books in 2023. I am one book off reaching my target, perhaps I can achieve this by the end of the year.

My sister and niece came to stay for a few days so we played lots of games, toasted marshmallows and ate lots of Christmas chocs. It was lovely to have some house guests.

Our little Bichon Frise pup went to the groomers for a pre-Christmas trim. We asked for a teddy bear cut and he looked great for a few days until we took him for a walk. It hasn’t rained much lately but it is so muddy. He only has tiny legs so soaked up all the mud!

I treated myself to a set of Little Stitchy Bee wooden ornaments. I have admired these for a while so thought I would buy them as I love to add handmade decorations to our tree. I have managed to embroider four of the decorations, I have put the others away for next year.

Today we will be packing away our Scout elves for another year. We’ve had a lot of fun with them and it hasn’t felt so stressful as it has in previous years. This week they have brought Prime, made Christmas ornaments for the kids, made brown E’s for breakfast and bought mini treats for my daughter to decorate her Maileg gingerbread house.

Have a great week.

    Completing your Christmas reading with “The Gingerbread Christmas Village” and being one book away from your annual target is an achievement.

    What a wonderful way to kick off the week! Your Happy List is such a heartwarming tradition, and it’s inspiring to see you reflecting on joyful moments and family adventures. Congrats on almost reaching your 35-book goal for 2023, and ‘The Gingerbread Christmas Village’ sounds like the perfect festive read. Here’s to hitting that goal by year-end!
