Five Happy Things {Week 465}

Posted on September 10, 2023September 14, 2023 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Five Happy Things {Week 465}

Last week I shared some of our fun days out over the summer holidays. We had a great week in Dorset, looking for jurassic fossils and using our Lifetime National Trust card to visit some beautiful historic buildings. I shared our trip to Hardy’s Cottage and Max Gate, as well as the historic Seaton tramway. We are always on the look out for family-friendly things to do, as well as dog-friendly of course.

I tidied up my Pinterest boards. It’s hard to believe that I have over 250000 followers over there and I still love Pinning. I really needed to tidy up my Boards and move things around and now I’m much happier that everything is up to date and tidy.

My daughter started at Secondary School last week, and my son went into Year 9. The weather was unbearably hot but they both did so well, cycling to school in hot sunshine. It felt strange to start receiving so many school emails after the break over the summer, and our diary is already filling up for the academic year.

We have been walking the dog in the evenings due to the unbearable weather. Poor thing has just been sleeping all day as he doesn’t know what to do with himself.

Tidying up the garden for Autumn. I love the changing seasons and although the garden has looked great all summer, I am happy to take away the runner beans and tomatoes and plant new vegetables for autumn.

Have a great week!

    I just can’t get enough of this series! My five happy things are:
    My kids are doing well in school (mercifully).
    We finally finished our backyard project.
    I knocked out an extra few things on my to do list unexpectedly.
    I’ve finally finished the book I was reading.
    Well, I have four, but still!

    I love this subject. We can’t walk any time of the day because it’s so hot here in Florida. Just waiting for the weather to change.

    Last week was so tough with the sun so the kids did really well going to school in that. That’s amazing about your Pinterest, I fell out of love with it for a while, but maybe I need to just dedicate some time back into it x

    My happy thing this week was an amazing walk in nature especially that the fall colors are about to start. I love it….

    It is nice to focus on the positive and not the negative. The beginning of the school year can be so stressful, and I will have to think of the positive moments!

    Sounds like you’ve had a lovely week, it is hard to get back into the school run routine after the long summer break and yes the amount of emails that has come in has surprised me as well.
