Five Happy Things {Week 448}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Five Happy Things {Week 448}

We started the week with a Bank Holiday thanks to the King’s Coronation. We took the kids climbing at Harrow Wall indoor climbing centre, followed by a trip to the cinema to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Both the kids have been away camping all weekend with Scouts so we took the opportunity for a grown up day out in London. We started our day with a visit to the iconic Battersea Power Station as we had booked tickets to go on Lift 109 which takes you up inside one of the huge chimneys. Unfortunately we arrived to be told it was shut due to technical difficulties which was a bit of a wasted journey. Thankfully we had booked a slot at Draughts London so enjoyed 2 hours of playing board games, followed by a trip to watch Witness for the Prosecution at the theatre.

I’ve been trying to pick up more sewing this week and have been hand quilting the mini quilt I’ve had lying around. You can definitely see progress with it so I’m going to focus on it this week. I’ve also picked up the London embroidery hoop I have. Again, I want to finish this before I start anything new.

Last week I couldn’t put down The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman which is part of the Thursday Murder Club series. Sometimes I feel like the only person who reads a book on their commute into the office. I can’t put it down and have been reading as many chapters as I can, whenever I can.

Since we finished watching The Mandalorian Season 3 I’ve been watching the Bridgerton prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story on Netflix. I’m really enjoying it, although slightly confused by the dual time-frame hopping back and forth. I love all the colourful costumes which are getting me excited for the return of The Great British Sewing Bee soon.

    We were thinking of going to London too but were surprised that we now need a passport to travel there, since they are no longer a member of the European Union
