I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Last week was pretty crazy as we had a 2 day visit from Ofsted at the school I work in. I’m glad the visit is over and can’t wait to hear the outcome.
Five Happy Things {Week 239}
I love the work of Rob Ryan who is a screen printer and paper cutter, and I’m lucky enough to own one of his pieces. He made a limited edition screen printed anti-Brexit poster which I snapped up to add to my collection. It features birds flying over trees with the words: Let’s Be A Part of Each Other. Let’s Not Be Apart From Each Other. No To Brexit! I can’t wait to get it framed and up on our wall.
We have been sent some lovely toys to review lately including the new L.O.L. Surprise! Fuzzy Pets and cute collectible Moji Pops. My children love unboxing toys and we are looking forward to telling you about the wonderful #BotBotsChallenge we took part in later this week.
We celebrated the end of a busy week with a visit to Istanbul Turkish Grill Restaurant & Meze Bar in Ruislip Manor. We used to love eating out at a certain Turkish restaurant before we moved over to this side of London. We had heard great things about a local Turkish restaurant so visited on Friday. We picked a selection of our favourite dishes to share and the food was great. We even got the children to try most things! I’m so happy to have found somewhere new to eat.
I recently finished an embroidery hoop kit and fell in love with an embroidery hoop necklace from Smile and Make. It features a tiny pair of scissors, thread and thimble along with the words Make Good Things. It’s so pretty and a great reminder for me to keep my hands busy!
Yesterday we had a lovely day out visiting the Watercress Line and then Jane Austen’s house at Chawton. Sometimes it can be difficult to make time for a day out but we did it! The weather was so cold but we all enjoyed a ride on a steam rain through the countryside. Today we are tackling a long list of DIY projects around the home and encouraging the children with their homework.
Have a great week everyone.
