Monday morning again. Hope you had a great weekend. I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Five Happy Things {Week 230}
I found the first week back at work after half term really tiring. We added a new after school club to our weekly schedule which made for a really ridiculous Monday. My 8 year old wants to make video games when he’s older so I signed him up for Coding Club at our local library. He really enjoyed the first session and I have bought him lots of Scratch books for his birthday later this month.
I had Parents Evening for my 8 year old which I was looking forward to. It’s always good to hear how your child gets on and I was so proud to hear he can stand up in front of his class to share news and loves to help the teacher. I loved looking through his school books to, especially where he had written a poem about me. He’s been given a long term project to research and write this half term, so we spent some of the weekend researching Alfred the Great and helping him plan.
On Saturday we took my 7 year old to our local Kids Run Free. She’s great at running long distances and seems to enjoy the challenge. They’ve changed to way they measure them and now they do as many laps as they can in 20 minutes. My daughter was delighted with her 19 laps.
I was recently sent a Cricut Maker and EasyPress2 to review so I spent much of the weekend setting it up. The whole family loves it and my 8 year old has been labelling all his notebooks. It’s been really fun to have something new to learn and I can’t wait to share more about the Cricut Maker and EasyPress2 with you.
It was really nice to have a quiet weekend. The weather wasn’t great so it was quite nice to stay indoors and craft with the kids. My 7 year old is still enjoying her Pretty Pixels Eraser Maker (I don’t think we’ve ever had so much fun with a review toy before!) so the house is filled with pretty rubbers, and we also painted rocks and my 8 year old has been designing his own cartoon. We are definitely a creative family.
Have a great week everyone.
