Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 13/2025}
Last week I finished my 1000-piece The World of Bridgerton, a Laurence King jigsaw puzzle. It features over 30 characters inspired by Shondaland’s hit series Bridgerton on Netflix. This was a fun puzzle and made me want to watch a period drama.
I also finished reading The Lost Dresses of Italy by M.A.McLaughlin. I enjoyed this historical novel, set with a dual time line. It focused on the poet Christina Rosetti and a trip she took to Italy. It was a good story and I didn’t see the twist at the end coming at all.
My daughter and I headed back to our local pottery shop, Wick & Ceramic, to paint the clay models we made a few weeks ago. They all survived the kiln in one piece so we were able to paint them. They need to be glazed and go back in the kiln, then we will be able to pick them up.
We’ve enjoyed some good food lately. Over the weekend we tried a local Lebanese street food place and had some really good food. It felt lovely to try something different (and saved cooking of course). We got our hands on the new Minecraft adult meals – can’t wait to go and watch A Minecraft Movie with the teens over the Easter holidays. I also found the viral M&S Dippy Egg Filled Hot Cross Buns which were not very popular in our house! Finally, we were lucky to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at our local Browns restaurant to celebrate Mothers Day.
We took the dog for a walk in our local woods over the weekend and found the bluebells were already starting to come out. This feels so early to me but they were beautiful to see.
