Five Happy Things

Five Happy Things {Week 1/2025}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 1/2025}

It was so lovely having time off between Christmas and New Year. The weather was not great but we enjoyed spending time with the children. We took them climbing at HarroWall which was fun. It’s dog friendly which meant the pup could come too!

We also managed a trip karting at Team Sports in High Wycombe. This is a new track and one that my son was keen to try out. We had two races and finished off our session with a game of electronic darts.

We love a sculpture train and managed to walk some of the Penguin Parade at Fleet Street Quarter. The trail consists of 12 penguin sculptures, each decorated by a different artist. We don’t visit the Fleet Street area of London very often but we enjoyed looking for the penguins.

playing Carcassonne

Our final trip with the kids was to Draughts Board Game Cafe at Waterloo. We have been to Draughts back in 2023 but it was fun to take the kids. We played both Santorini and Carcassonne, which we had played before. This was also dog friendly so a great place to hide from all the rain.

I set myself a new reading challenge for 2025 of 35 books. I read some brilliant books last year and am excited to read some of the books I received for Christmas. My first book of the year is The Book of Beginnings by Sally Page.

    The Draughts Board Game looks similar to one that we have played before (Carcassonne). It is nice to spend some quality time together as a family.
