Last week I had one of those emails which I had to re-read several times because I couldn’t believe what it contained. It asked if the children would like to test some of the latest Fisher-Price toys. I may have written back in capitals saying OF COURSE! You see I have a love affair with Fisher-Price and they are top of my list of toys I look out for in a bid to recapture the essence of childhood. I just loved my Fisher Price radio and play desk <happy sigh>.
Anyway, I digress.
Little Sis received the Fisher-Price Tiger Stacker and Fisher-Price Puppy’s Piano. These are the first toys she’s had of her own as everything she plays with has belonged to her older brother. The Tiger Stacker is a simple toy with three rings filled with beads. She’s just learning to grasp them but is intrigued when we shake them. The bottom piece is painted with the friendly face of a lion which she enjoys staring at whilst on her baby gym.
She was also sent the Puppy’s Piano, a little keyboard which plays over 40 sounds and songs. This is aimed at ages 6-36 months and appeals to her older brother. At 24 months he is an inquisitive little soul and loves interactive noisy toys. When Little Sis gets a chance she does like this toy and seems to enjoy me singing along with some of the songs. We also like the light-up nose on the puppy!
Big Brother was sent the Fisher-Price Little People Garage. I wish I had been able to take a photograph of his face when he saw the box! He was so excited. He’s a bit of a train boy but he has a fair collection of cars which he immediately got out and put in the garage. What is it about little boys and cars? They seem to know exactly what to do and he’s been having fun ever since parking his cars which then have frequent ‘crashes’ which is his favourite word at the moment.
The last item we were sent was a <whisper> potty. Eek. Potty training fills me with dread and I know I will be blogging about it at some point soon when Big Brother shows the signs that he is ready to start. The Fisher-Price potty is perfect for potty training wherever you go. It’s a 2-in-1 which means it can be used in the comfort of your own home or out and about. The potty chair can be used if you’re caught short or you can use just the potty seat on a normal toilet seat. We look forward to using this in a couple of months!
A big thank you to Mattel for sending us these amazing toys which are perfect for my little preschoolers and help make play-time even more fun!
