I have a sweet kids craft to share today. Both my children love Shopkins, the cute little characters from the supermarket. They are so excited about the launch of Season 3 Shopkins next month, I am too since I found there was a gingerbread house character.
Inevitably my children have ended up with a few duplicates which they’ve let me craft with. So far we’ve made a Shopkins necklace, key ring and brooch.
Since my daughter was toilet trained a few weeks ago I have been trying to come up with ways to encourage her to wash her hands. I thought it would be fun to re-use some spare Shopkins to motivate them to wash their hands with a DIY Shopkins soap dispenser.
Equipment needed to make a DIY Shopkins soap dispenser
Kid-friendly liquid soap, clear is best
Empty bottle with a pump dispenser and wide neck (large enough to fit Shopkins through)
Spare Shopkins
How to make a DIY Shopkins soap dispenser
Remove the label from the soap bottle and half fill with liquid soap.
Add your Shopkins into the bottle and watch them float through the soap.
Top up the bottle with more liquid soap, leaving enough room for the dispenser and a few air bubbles.
Shake and watch your Shopkins dance around.
My children love making these personalised soap bottles and they make great handmade gifts too. As well as our normal sized soap dispenser we filled a handbag sized one too.

June 29, 2015 at 2:39 pmI love this idea! Soap dispensers are so ugly but this is really cute! I’d never heard of Shopkins either but i think i might go and hunt them out and make the soap in the girls bathroom a bit cuter!!
