This week I’ve been sharing my thoughts on some of the subscription boxes I’ve been trying. I adore getting mail and subscription boxes are just a lovely way to try new products, often at a fraction of the normal price.
I read a couple of reviews about Degustabox and one blogger shared a code for a 50% discount on the first box which I used to save myself some money, normally they cost £12.99. I found the site easy to use and I liked the way they kept me up to date with the delivery of my box.
The idea behind the Degustabox is to enjoy 9 to 14 surprise products, many of which are completely new to the market. I really enjoyed opening my box and as well as the products there was a handy guide to each item as well as a couple of recipes which were completely unrelated to the contents of the box.
Earlier this month the September Degustabox I ordered arrived. The products were:
Bassett Jelly Babies in the new Berry flavours, Maynards Wine Gums, 2 packs of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Mallow & Marsh Raspberry Marshmallows, Kent’s Kitchen Spicy Szechuan Posh Noodles, Up & Go breakfast drinks, Complete Energy Bites, Sweet Sally Tea, 2 bottles of Craft Cider from The Good Cider and a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from The Olive Shop.
I have to say that I thought the box represented great value. The guide shows the price of each item and I paid just £6.99 and shipping was free. The total contents were just over £20.
However I have to be honest and say I didn’t like all the products, and this is the gamble with this kind of box. The Complete Energy bites went straight in the recycling bin as they’re just not the kind of products we would try. I ate the Jelly Babies straight away with my daughter and the majority of the products we have been enjoying every day since.
The cider from The Good Cider was delicious and I would definitely buy again, the same with the raspberry marshmallow from Mallow & Marsh – can you tell I have a sweet tooth? Some of the products I have passed to friends and family but overall I think the Degustabox is good value and a great way to discover new products. I would definitely buy one again.
