Cutwork pincushion

It’s been a while since I participated in Handmade Monday so I thought I would tell you about my latest pin cushion. I used a lovely pattern from Stitch at Home by Mandy Shaw, which is a great book full of inspiring patterns.

I love cutwork (we have a great piece of art by Rob Ryan hanging in our bedroom) so it was obvious that I would make the adorable cutwork pin cushion. It’s a lovely little project for using up scraps and I have plenty of pieces of felt and vintage blankets!

The pincushion only took an evening to put together and I’m really pleased with the result.

Dare I admit I’ve bought the supplies for the fabric Gingerbread House from Stitch at Home? I’ve never made anything so detailed before but I’m hoping I can make it (in time for this Christmas too!).

Oh that’s so pretty, I love the lilac colour against the cream/white. Can’t wait to see the house when it’s finished.

That is so pretty and useful as well. A gingerbread house made from fabric, sounds good to me!

Oh I adore that little pincushion. It’s just gorgeous – would work well as a lavender bag or welcome wall hanger, too!

I love the cutwork, it gives a different dimension to the look of the design. Don’t forget to show the gingerbread house when it’s finished.
