Could your child create a new pizza for Pizza Express?

Could your child create a new pizza for Pizza Express?

Posted on June 11, 2019September 7, 2019 by jenny

A few weeks ago we were invited to Pizza Express so the children could have a go at making their own pizzas! Sadly we couldn’t make it as Big Brother fell off his scooter and fractured his wrist. The kids were so disappointed as we just love Pizza Express, especially the kids’ menu. They always eat from the Piccolo menu, they have their favourites – the dough balls and pizza followed by chocolate brownie!

Could your child create a new pizza for Pizza Express?

Luckily for them Pizza Express are running a fantastic competition, offering kids the chance to create a brand-new pizza which will take pride of place on the popular Piccolo menu. This creative competition will see one lucky winner’s pizza creation appear on the menu in all the 470 branches across the UK.

Could your child create a new pizza for Pizza Express?

The competition for budding pizzaiolos (pizza chefs) is very simple to enter. Just visit www.pizzaexpress.com/cyo and choose four ingredients from a selection of 20 possibilities. The winning pizza will be handcrafted by iconic Pizzaiolos in every restaurant, using only the finest quality ingredients, so the winning dish will be in safe hands.

I was pleased to see that Pepperoni was on the list, as that’s the children’s favourite. There are also some ingredients which they might not know though, such as Houmous, Anchovy and Pestorissa.  Don’t just choose your ingredients though! Kids will also need to choose a suitable name for their creation and write a sentence or two about what inspired them.

The winning pizza will be offered alongside a line-up of mini versions of PizzaExpress favourites, including the delicious starter of Baked Dough Balls, served with creamy houmous, a fresh side salad and La Reine.

There will be 10 semi-finalists selected from across the country and then one final winner will be chosen by a panel of experts, headed up by Jane Treasure, Food & Beverage Director at PizzaExpress.

What do you think? I know that my children would just love the chance to see their creations brought to life. Please note the competition runs until Monday 17th June and is open to all children 13 years and under. To enter and to view the T’s & C’s, head over to .
