It’s not often I encourage the children to play with their food but today they could. This evening we were invited to our local Pizza Express restaurant to create a ‘ghoulish pizza’ design from the ingredients on the menu. The children couldn’t believe their luck to be shown to a table with aprons and their very own Pizza Express hats. They were given pizza bases and shown how to cover it with tomato sauce. Then they chose some ingredients from the kitchen to create the scariest pizzas they could. A few ingredients may have been eaten along the way…
Both children created scary vampire faces on their pizza bases. They used pepperoni and olives for the eyes, cheese for the hair and red peppers for the hair.
Then they were cooked in the oven for 4 minutes before the children were allowed to eat their creations.
They loved creating their pizzas and came up with so many fun ideas from ghosts and bats, to vampires and witches. You don’t have to visit your local Pizza Express to design your own spooky pizza. In fact, create a spooky pizza at home and enter their competition and you could win a £500 Pizza Express voucher!
Create a spooky pizza and win a £500 Pizza Express voucher
To celebrate Halloween in typical PizzaExpress fashion, they’re launching a search for the most ghoulish pizza ideas your mind can muster. Freddy Krueger’s face on a pizza base? A jumble of black olives in the shape of a bat? As long as you can find the ingredients for your idea on the menu you can enter.
To be in with the chance of winning a £500 PizzaExpress voucher and to have your ghastly creation sampled in one of their restaurants for one day; simply tweet or Facebook Pizza Express with your idea.
You can find the full T&Cs here. The competition closes at midday on the 19th October, 2016. Oh, and don’t forget to use the hashtag #halloweenpizzas in your entry!

Not sure what I’d do with £500 though, maybe have a massive pizza party!
