My first make of 2025 is a sweet little hoop, a cover gift with Love Embroidery magazine. Designed my Matilda Smith I have a feeling this has been sitting around for a while now, I started but didn’t finish.

Cosy Cabin Hoop Kit

The hoop kit contained the plastic hoop, pre-printed fabric featuring a winter scene, and threads. This was a nice, easy project with only 4 types of stitches.

I’m not sure why I started but didn’t finish this hoop. Looking back it was probably all those small stitches on the cabin which took forever!

When I picked it up again I added the windows, door and moon. I decided to watch Mrs Lowry & Son whilst stitching, all about the life of LS Lowry and his relationship with his mother. It was the perfect film to watch whilst stitching, and made me want to visit The Lowry to see some of his art.

Then I moved on to the trees, before finishing off with the snowy ground and French Knot stars. It’s a lovely scene to stitch in Winter and my first (finished) make of 2025! Fingers crossed I continue as I have started.
