Now my daughter is is Year 6 I think this will be the last year any of my children are expected to dress up for Children In Need. Over the years they have worn lots of spotty clothes, which I’ve made with the help of my trusty Cricut machine. Last year I bought her a fun Pudsey t-shirt which I think she will be wearing again this year. We can’t wait to help raise some money for Children In Need. This year we wanted to get in the spirit for Children In Need and had a lot of fun decorating Children In Need painted rocks. It’s been a while since we decorated any painted rocks but these were a lot of fun.

For our Children In Need painted rocks we used:

Bag of smooth pebbles or rocks

Selection of chalk pens

Yellow acrylic paint

Varnish to seal the painted rocks (we use Wilko Gloss Yacht Varnish) – optional

We already had a stash of smooth rocks so I picked a selection, washed and dried them. We gave them a coat of yellow acrylic paint as a base and left them to dry.

We wanted to decorate our rocks with Pudsey spots so drew circles all over each rock.

Then added colour with our Posca pens which are perfect for drawing on rocks. We all picked our favourite colours and set to work, adding colour.

The Posca pens dry quickly so we were able to finish our Children In Need/Pudsey rocks after school.

I’m not sure if we’re going to varnish these or leave them as they are. They are perfect for hiding amongst the books at our local library!
