We were recently sent a Baby Annabell Learns to Walk doll to review at home. This is a lovely 3 in 1 doll and with very realistic movements. You can place her on her tummy for tummy time and watch her crawl, she can be sat up and then take her first steps!
My daughter has always loved playing with her dolls. The Baby Annabell range focuses on all the caring and nurturing aspects of being a mummy or daddy making it ideal for introducing little ones to the idea of a younger sibling coming along. Playing with dolls is also a great way for children to learn about looking after others. I love the way my daughter wants to feed her dolls and put them to bed. Sometimes I find them sitting on the sofa and watching tv!
Luckily for my daughter she doesn’t have to worry about her Baby Annabell and if she is reaching all her correct milestones at the right time.
Zapf Creation recently introduced the Baby Annabell Learns to Walk doll and is challenging the milestones parents are told their children should reach at certain ages. This puts silly pressure on new parents and unnecessary worry if at 20 months their little one isn’t walking or talking.
The first time around I’m afraid I was a bit of a worrier. I absorbed everything those ridiculous baby magazines tell you. I didn’t have any family close by and my husband was working full time. Thankfully I had Twitter and lots of late night conversations with people about all the questions I had. I also went to some baby groups and found a supportive network of mums who helped me figure everything out. I think milestones can be helpful but you need to take them all with a pinch of salt. I remember my first child was off the scale of the charts in that silly Red Book. I worried for his first few months but soon figured out that he was always going to be taller than average, and in a hurry to walk, speak and run. He was. My second child was completely different, and thankfully I was too busy with the pair of them to worry about milestones.
this looks like a great doll to have – the idea that it relieves the pressure for new parents on milestones is always a good thing 🙂 x
