My book shelves are pretty full, and double stacked in places, but when I heard about Cath Kidston Teatime I really wanted to treat myself to a copy. I have all the Cath Kidston books as I love looking through them, but so far they’ve all been craft books. Cath Kidston Teatime: 50 cakes and bakes for every occasion is a baking book and I was excited to see a copy.
Teatime is a British tradition that has become a staple the world over. Teatime includes 50 recipes for bakes, with sections on: Classic afternoon tea, Picnic tea, School fêtes and bake sales and show-stopping Celebrations.
This is a lovely book to look through and I immediately bookmarked a few pages with delicious recipes. So far I have made the malted chocolate cookies, Berry cheesecake jars (twice!) and the sage and mustard sausage rolls.
The recipes are easy to follow but Teatime has obviously been written for an international audience which annoyed me. Recipe measurements are in both grams and cups, and I had to really think about some ingredients like malted milk powder (I used Horlicks) and chocolate-coated honeycomb balls (surely this can only mean Maltesers!).

I love everything Cath Kidston but had no idea they had a cookery book, this is brilliant.
This cook book looks perfect! I think I’m going to buy it for my other half, she loves to bake!
