A few weeks ago we went to visit Painshill Park in Surrey. It’s highly recommended, especially if you enjoy scenic walks, historical architecture, and tranquil natural settings. Located in Cobham, Surrey, this 18th century landscaped garden spans 160 acres and features a variety of follies and picturesque views. It’s also been used as a film location, so many of the places were familiar to us! Highlights of Painshill Park Painshill Park is worth a visit and is a beautiful landscaped garden packed with a variety of places to explore. There is a house called Painshill but this is not open…

Our teen celebrated his 15th birthday recently. He loves racing cars and Formula 1 so we thought he would enjoy one of the driving experiences for teens at Mercedes-Benz World. A few friends have mentioned Mercedes-Benz World and we weren’t sure if it was worth visiting Mercedes-Benz World, but we gave it a try! Driving experiences for teens at Mercedes-Benz World The most important thing it that it’s free to get into Mercedes-Benz World! It’s very close to Brooklands Museum, an aviation and motoring museum we have visited before. It looks a little like an expensive car showroom when you…

Last weekend we took a trip to RHS GLOW 2022 at RHS Garden Wisley with the kids. We love to see Christmas lights and last year visited both the Lap of Lights at Silverstone and Christmas at Kew. This year we decided to try something different and went to RHS GLOW 2022. We love visiting RHS Garden Wisley but were looking forward to visiting after dark. RHS GLOW 2022 at Wisley with kids I made sure to book our tickets as soon as we could and visited the weekend it opened. We love this kind of experience and think it…

It feels like a while since we went out for the day. General Christmas busy-ness and then trying to ward off the January blues, we decided it was time to go a little further afield. However, where to go? It almost felt like we closed our eyes and placed a finger on a map, ending up with Runnymede. This ticked the box for just 30 minutes drive away, and owned by the National Trust. Exploring Runnymede, the home of the Magna Carta We’ve been to Windsor a few times lately. It is near where we live and great for shopping…

Last month we finally got round to visiting RHS Wisley in Surrey. RHS Wisley is the historic home of the RHS and houses one of the largest plant collections in the world.I love being outdoors at the weekend and this was a place on my bucket list. Tickets are pre-book so we booked a day, packed the puppy off to puppy day care (sadly no dogs are allowed at RHS Wisley except on special occasions) and set off for a short drive. A trip to RHS Wisley with kids I’m not much of a gardener but it doesn’t mean that…

For the past few years I have enjoyed putting together a post about the best pumpkin patches near London. Living on the edge of London we are able to travel into Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and more to find the perfect pumpkin patch. There’s just something wonderful about a walk (and a photo or two) at a pumpkin patch. I’m sure I would never have said this a few years ago but it’s something the whole family enjoys, and the perfect Autumnal day out. Pumpkin patches near London {updated for 2020} As pumpkin patches are outdoors I’m hopeful that the…
