The weather has been pretty poor over the school holidays but we’ve had a ew nice days here and there. With the weather forecasting good weather we had a go at making some ice lollies in some little moulds I bought at Flying Tiger. The recipe was simple but it was something the kids could do and enjoy. You can make any kind of homemade lollies but I wanted them to be eye catching so used cute little gummy bears! Our Summer holidays are whizzing by. I can’t believe we’ve had four weeks of adventures already. We were really lucky to go away for a few days and have a change of scene. It was lovely to do normal things, like watch films at home and take the kids to the park. We wanted to help my daughter ride her bike without her stabilisers but let’s just say, she was a little reluctant! Monday Happy Things {Week 151} Whist we were away we visited The Courts Garden, Holt and the Fairy and Dragon Grotto at Whitehall Garden Centre. We’d never…

The first week of the summer holidays is over and we managed to pack in a pretty full week. My children spent 4 days at SuperCamp and had a brilliant time, making new friends, trying new sports and crafts. They had longer days than the school day but loved it although I didn’t really know what to do with myself. I spent my free time tidying the house as we have lots of visitors over the summer. It was quite a relief to be able to clean and change beds without the children around. I also enjoyed a cheeky lunch…

My children got brilliant school reports this year. I am so proud of them and all the hard work they do at school. With the 6 week school holidays I do worry a little about them losing some of the skills they have learned. I’m not a pushy mum (honest!) but I’ve introduced a few things to make sure their learning doesn’t slide over the holidays. For the last few years we’ve taken part in the Summer Reading Challenge run through our local library. This is as simple as reading 6 books during the school holidays for which they are…

Our summer countdown has begun. The children have three days left at school and then we have 6 weeks without clubs, organised activities or the school run! No homework! No running the children from one thing to the next. Today I’m sharing my Summer beauty trends for 2017. I’m not kidding myself that 6 weeks will be easy but I can’t wait for a break from the normal routine. As much as we all thrive on routine it’s also nice to have a break. The summer holidays actually give me a much-needed chance to shake up my beauty regime. Being a…

It looks like we’re having another mini heatwave in the UK at the moment. Like most Brits I admit to being obsessed with the weather. I love Spring and Autumn, find Winter a little depressing and really dislike Summer. I just can’t stand the heat and sunshine. My skin just reacts in the worst way and I find it so much easier to stay indoors than have to worry about hats, suncream and keeping cool. I find it harder to make sure my children are being sensible too. The morning school run seems to become a blur of water bottles,…

Now our garden is in full bloom it’s been fun to use some of the flowers in our crafting. Every week we have been joining in with the A-Z Play at Home blog hop. This weeks letter was the letter I which immediately made me think of ice. The children love making ice, using ice and playing with ice. We wanted to give our ice play a little seasonal twist so picked some fresh blooms from our garden for some colourful ice play. We used: heart shaped plastic trays from the recycling bin fresh flowers from the garden water Frozen…

Bank Holidays are extra special around here. The sun is shining and we are looking forward to an extra family day and hopefully a long overdue trip to the cinema to watch The BFG. I am also relishing the thought of my inbox having an extra quiet day 🙂 This morning I am bringing you my weekly Monday Happy List special Bank Holiday edition. I mentioned that we are away for a few days. We started the week in Exeter, chasing rhinos around the city. We seem to pack an awful lot into weeks away which is both fun and…
