Little Sis has completely fallen in love with the story of Cinderella. Over the Easter holiday we went to see the new Cinderella film starring Lily James and Richard Madden. We were also lucky enough to see some of the beautiful costumes and props in a pop up Disney’s Cinderella exhibition in Leicester Square. We were recently offered a Cinderella Junior Readybed from WorldsApart to review and I knew Little Sis would love it, so said yes please! In case you are not familiar, ReadyBed is the original all-in-one sleeping bag and bed that has got quick comfort covered. ReadyBed’s…

I’m sitting here at just gone 7 o’clock with my two children asleep in their beds (fingers crossed). Our bedtime routine has been established pretty much since the children were born and they never go to sleep without at least one story. My husband and I alternate taking each child to bed and our routine means they are usually in bed by 7pm. Recent research undertaken by Fairy Non-Bio about children’s bedtime routines* found the following: Even as dads get more involved in parenting, bedtime is still mums domain, with 51% of mums in charge of bedtime each night compared…

One of the fun things about moving has to be the chance to decorate and buy new furniture! Ages ago my husband gave me a planner and I have been busy collecting wall paper samples and tearing out ideas for colour schemes and colourful themed bedrooms for the children. We’re toying with the idea of moving the toddler into a bigger bed and of course Little Sis will be in her own bedroom too. I was recently contacted by the bedding company who specialise in bedding for grown ups and children. They sell a huge range of pillows, duvets, bed…

No not us, but Little Sis. For the last 15 months she has quite happily shared a room with us, but it’s time for her to go. Not that I don’t love having her with us but I want her to go straight into her own room when we move. Last year we had our spare room subdivided so she does have her own room. We just need to remove our guest bed and move her cot in. It’s been freshly decorated so it’s all ready for her. We moved her brother into his own room when he was 6…

Just before Christmas I undertook the Lenor fresh sheet challenge, using the new Lenor fabric softener. I love my bed (and my Orla Kiely bedding!) so was very happy to try the new product out. My sheets felt lovely and soft and smelt of delicious Pink Topaz and Magnolia. Lenor gives fabric up to seven times longer lasting freshness by releasing scent through touch to keep them fresh and fragrant for longer – helping turn Fresh Sheet Day into Fresh Sheet Week! I don’t know about you but since my children have come along I haven’t really experienced a good nights’…

I’m not sure if it’s the long break from nursery over Christmas but my poor toddler appears to be bored and not tired enough to sleep. I know writing that makes me look like the worst mother which is why I’m trying to do something about it. This week is Operation Tire the Toddler. I’m going all out to physically exhaust him. Monday was soft play, Tuesday was a trip on the tube and the London Transport Museum, Wednesday was rhyme time at the library (which included a long walk there and back), Thursday he’s back at nursery for 4…

Now I’m the proud mother of two children it seems strange looking back to the time I wasn’t pregnant or a parent. I don’t think I used to be quite so addicted to my laptop(!) but I remember when I still worked and was pregnant a colleague recommended some websites to look at. These included the Bounty pregnancy tracker and sites to meet other pregnant women. I quickly signed myself up to receive emails and became inundated with information. It’s so each to feel overwhelmed and it took a while to find out what I really needed. I wish there was…

I felt a bit emotional yesterday. My 11 month old is growing up in leaps and bounds and I can’t help but feel happy and sad at the same time. She’s been giving us loads of problems lately – first it was off her milk completely, then off her food, then waking constantly in the night. However, in the last week or two (fingers crossed) things have improved. I’ve made a huge effort to give her more finger food as she prefers feeding herself to being fed, she’s drinking milk and water from a cup herself and she’s sleeping better.…

I don’t need to tell regular readers that my son is a huge Thomas the Tank Engine fan. I spotted a vintage Thomas duvet cover in a charity shop and snapped it up for a couple of pounds. When I got it home I wasn’t sure how to use it – re-size it as a toddler duvet, a bean bag cover or cushion cover. Instead I thought it would make two fun fitted sheets. The ones we’ve been using have been plain blue and these would be a little different. It was quite simple to make. I unpicked the duvet…
