Little Sis was recently sent two brand new toys from Little Tikes to review and tell you about. She’s been having great fun with both of them – the Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition and the Little Tikes Jelly Bean. We’ve written a blog post about each item as we felt they deserved it! Little Tikes’ new 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition are designed to grow as a child’s skills develop. With detachable handle, seat belt, durable tyres, packing bag, soft seating and drinks holder – it’s great for babies and beginner riders! Moving toys are brilliant for helping children…

My 2 year old is very curious about the world and has been having great fun with a RC Thomas she was sent from Fisher-Price. It’s a great toy for developing motor skills and allows her to use trial and error to master the simple buttons on the remote control and move Thomas around. This is a very simple toy. The remote control unit takes 3 batteries, Thomas takes 3 batteries, and there’s a small on/off button underneath Thomas. The remote control has two buttons which enable you to move Thomas forward and backwards. Thomas is also full of sayings,…

I was delighted to tune in to CBeebies recently and see the Peter Rabbit animated series. The Tale of Peter Rabbit is one of the first books I remember from my childhood. The stories of Peter Rabbit and his friends are timeless and I think they have translated really well into a programme that my children love to sit and watch. My sister and I had a library of Beatrix Potter books when we were little and I’ve been buying them for my own children whenever I see them in charity shops. There’s something very comforting about reading these simple stories…

I love how creative my children are with their Lego Duplo. It really inspires and challenges them. Today they got out the Lego table (which we made from an old Ikea table) and the children let their imaginations flow. My 4 year old loves the Disney Cars films so made a very elaborate garage for his Lego Duplo Lightning McQueen. He’s amassed quite a few different sets so was able to build walls, floors, lifts, and include petrol pumps, a post office and much much more! Dusty Crophopper ended up parking on the roof – I love it when my…

My very lucky children were recently sent early Easter presents from Playmobil, Playmobil Easter eggs. They always seem to receive lots of chocolate at Easter and these are a great alternative and a little longer lasting too! Inside the plastic shell is a Playmobil figure and the shell can be re-used as a money box. Little Sis was delighted with her magenta egg with the Flower Fairy with Enchanted Tree and Big Brother received a Biker with Motorcycle in the blue egg. Both were easy to put together and my children enjoyed playing with them and adding them to their…

I mentioned that Little Sis has been reviewing some of the Playmobil 1-2-3 range. Her older brother was sent the new Playmobil police truck with speedboat set 5187 to review. It’s a really lovely set and pretty easy to put together although the stickers are very fiddly! According to the Playmobil site: Protect by land and sea with the Police Truck with Speedboat. Race to the scene in the police truck, equipped with a removable roof and four working doors that make it easy to seat up to four figures. Kids can also embark on a water investigation with the…

We had a lovely half term break with a couple of trips into the West End, a special meeting with Tree Fu Tom and finished off with a trip to visit nanny in the countryside. Unfortunately towards the end of the week everyone started to succumb to coughs and colds and in my case, laryngitis! I don’t think I’ve felt so ill in a long time and I found out just how difficult it is to look after two small children when you’ve lost your voice. Thanks to our role as Playmobil Playologists I received a box of the latest…
