    Aquabeads Sylvanian Families

You know we love crafting with Aquabeads so we were quite excited to see an Aquabeads Sylvanian Families set when we were in Hamleys toy shop last week. I know my children have plenty of toys but I couldn’t resist buying this set. My 3 year old really enjoys crafting with Aquabeads which surprised me as I thought she would find them too small. However, she’s really good at finding the correct colour and placing it in the right place and I knew she would love this set. Aquabeads Sylvanian Families The Aquabeads Sylvanian Families set is a refill set so…

    Explorer Scavenger Hunt

Today I’m excited to be taking part in the A-Z of Pretend Play Activities Blog Hop hosted by Nicola at Crafty Kids at Home! We chose the letter E for Explorers as my children love to explore. Over the school holidays we explored lots of places from the beach, canals to country houses but our favourite was our overnight stay at Whipsnade Zoo. We took part in a treasure hunt exploring the zoo, helped feed some of the animals and drove around some of the enclosures. The children have talked about our trip to the zoo quite a lot so I…

15 crafts for celebrating Roald Dahl Day

Earlier in the Summer I started reading chapter books with my 5 year old. He’s reading really well and I thought the style and humour of Roald Dahl’s books would give him extra encouragement to learn more words and improve his reading. The first book we read was George’s Marvellous Medicine, then The Magic Finger and we’re currently reading James and the Giant Peach. We have The Twits lined up for our next book. Can you tell I’m enjoying re-reading the books with him? Some of Roald Dahl’s most famous books are James and the Giant Peach; Charlie and the…

Rugby World Cup craft for kids

I’m sure you are well aware that the Rugby World Cup is hosted by England this year. It’s taking place between the 18th September and 31st October and we’re looking forward to watching England play their first match against Fiji. We had fun with our Rugby World Cup craft and thought we would share it here. As you know we’re part of the Baker Ross Blogger Network and we were sent some of their brand new Rugby Foam Stickers to craft with. You can buy them in packs of 120 and they feature 40 different designs including rugby balls, a…

    Aquabeads Bracelet Set

We’re big fans of trying lots of different crafts. If my children can make something with minimum input from me then they’re pretty happy. We’ve crafted with Aquabeads before so were pleased to be sent the new Aquabeads Bracelet Set. This is a Refill Set which means it only comes with beads and the card templates, you will also need the Aquabeads layout tray and sprayer. The Aquabeads Bracelet Set contains over 500 jewel and solid beads in a variety of colours, 4 x template sheets, instructions and a bracelet. We opened up the packs of beads and Little Sis…

    Making Miffy mail!

The school holidays have given us lot of lovely time to craft and experiment. We’ve gone through lots of supplies and organised our craft supplies several times in a bid to keep tidy (not easy with two children who love to craft!). Yesterday we finally got the chance to try some products we were sent from Faber Castell – the Faber-Castell Connector Paint Box and the Clic & Go Water Pot. Making Miffy mail! We’ve never experimented with watercolour paint before but I came up with a fun activity to keep my children busy. We made our own Miffy mail…

George’s Marvellous Medicine mud kitchen activity

Did you know that the 13th September is Roald Dahl Day? This Summer we started reading our first chapter book and I chose George’s Marvellous Medicine to read with our 5 year old. He soon got used to fewer pictures and the chapter structure. It’s been a great way to get him to re-tell the story to me each night before we read a chapter and see just how much he’s taking in. It’s lovely to re-read stories I enjoyed when I was younger and I can’t think of a more inspiring author to introduce to my children. Roald Dahl…

    8 cute alpaca crafts

July was so hectic I didn’t manage to write my usual Monthly Makes post. However as August is nearly on its way out I thought I would take a minute to write about what I’ve been making this month. When I sat down to think about it I realised I only really made one thing – I stitched a cute Loving Alpacas embroidery pattern, another Wild Olive by Mollie Johanson pattern. Have you noticed how cute alpacas are? There was a gorgeous alpaca bag charm in the latest Kawaii Box (which is attached to my bag so I can find…
