    International Women’s Day is celebrated today, March 8th, and is such an exciting day to celebrate! My daughter and I were reading a book about pioneering women in medicine, such as Elizabeth Garrett Anderson,  the first woman to qualify in Britain as a physician and surgeon. She was horrified that girls were expected to be educated at home whilst boys went off to school and had adventures! Thankfully the world is changing, albeit slowly, and we ensure our daughter has as many opportunities as her older brother does.
