My little 14 month old is a messy eater. She has the appetite of a sparrow and what she doesn’t eat, she gets everywhere. This morning it was porridge rubbed in her hair and I can’t even write about the things that fall out of her nappy everytime I change her. She was sent some OXO tot products from their feeding range, and whilst they didn’t stop the mess, they did make mealtimes more fun for her. We tried the OXO tot divided plate, feeding spoon and sippy cut with handles. She took to all the items straight away! The…

Now I’m the proud mother of two children it seems strange looking back to the time I wasn’t pregnant or a parent. I don’t think I used to be quite so addicted to my laptop(!) but I remember when I still worked and was pregnant a colleague recommended some websites to look at. These included the Bounty pregnancy tracker and sites to meet other pregnant women. I quickly signed myself up to receive emails and became inundated with information. It’s so each to feel overwhelmed and it took a while to find out what I really needed. I wish there was…

We were sent a (very large) box of the new limited edition Colour Me In Rice Krispies and a Bumper Colouring Case with 58 different pens, pencils, glitter glues and markers so the toddler and I could decorate the characters on the Rice Krispies box and personalise breakfast. Quite a long time ago the toddler went off breakfast (spot a theme in our house!?) and for the last year he’s eaten toast and a yoghurt everyday without fail. However, the arrival of the Rice Crispies, or “crisps” as he calls them, has him eating breakfast cereal again! On the day…

The toddler loves getting parcels as much as me. Although our latest package had my name on it, as soon as he saw a picture of a tractor on the box he knew the contents were for him. He was sent a tasty organic selection pack* from Organix to enjoy. Included in the pack were a delicious Mighty Meals, some of the newest additions to the award winning Goodies range including Mini Cheese Crackers and Tomato & Carrot Veg & Oat Bars, and some old favourites including Gingerbread Men, Cheese & Herb Puffs and Apple & Raspberry Soft Oaty Bars.…

I received a press release saying that as of 1st April, Asda Pharmacy (in 218 Asda stores) will be giving out free Vitamin D to children above the age of 3. Apparently recent advice from the Chief Medical Officer has suggested that all high-risk groups (including children under 5) should take the supplement to top up on their natural supplies which are mainly obtained from sunlight. I was horrified when I read this. I make sure we go out every day and get plenty of fresh air whether for just a walk or a trip to the park, ensure a…

Toddler mealtimes can be messy in our household so we were delighted to be offered a non-slip mat which might help! We were sent a red tortoise shaped mat which stuck to the dining table really easily. Once on, it meant the plate of food couldn’t slip all over the place whilst Edward fed himself. The Dycem mat comes in the shape of a tortoise or a hippo. It is easy to remove from the table and wipe clean. Dycem Non-Slip mats provide a secure surface that anchors items effectively in place. They produce non-slip mats which are ideal for…

I found a bar of dark chocolate and orange languishing at the back of the fridge so thought I would try making some chocolate orange cupcakes. I used a basic cupcake recipe but added 50g of the melted dark chocolate. When they were cooked and cooled I then decorated them with a simple buttercream icing but added 50g of melted white chocolate which I coloured with orange food colouring. I finished off the cupcakes with a mixture of white chocolate buttons and dark chocolate sprinkles.

Mmmm, gingerbread pancakes! I’ve been meaning to try these for a while but have been waiting to find a jar of molasses so I could make them the American way.
