    d20 Uxbridge Board Game Cafe

    A few weeks ago we visited our local Board Game Cafe, d20 Uxbridge Board Game Cafe. If the name sounds familiar that’s because they have another branch we’ve previous visited, d20 Watford. d20 Uxbridge Board Game Cafe The Uxbridge branch can be found down Windsor Street which is the prettiest street in Uxbridge. It’s full of independent shops and the perfect place for a board game cafe. It’s at the furthest end of the street, away from Uxbridge town centre, but still only a few minutes from Uxbridge underground station. There are at least two rooms at d20 so we…

    Day Trips with Toddlers: What You Need to Bring for a Relaxed Day Out

    Getting your children outdoors is very good for them, with the NCT outlining how it helps improve their sleep and motor skills, and encourages a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are visiting Ham House and Garden or spending a day in London, planning a day out with your kids may seem like a fun and enjoyable idea, but many parents know that these outings can often pose quite a challenge once the day comes.     Escape Hunt Watford {game review}

    We spent New Year’s Eve solving a Play at Home Escape Room which reminded me that we never shared our experience at Escape Hunt Watford. Escape Hunt Watford We found an Escape Room near us in Watford and chose an experience. There are 6 escape rooms at Escape Hunt Watford,…

    Exploring Shakespeare’s houses with kids

    With a child in Secondary school we are discovering new learning opportunities all the time! A few months ago my son started studying Shakespeare, which inspired a trip to visit some of the houses connected with William Shakespeare. We had already been to The Globe to watch a retelling of Twelfth Night at The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in London which was an amazing experience. I pre-booked our tickets online, buying a Shakespeare’s Story family ticket enabling us to visit three houses associated with William Shakespeare –  Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Shakespeare’s New Place and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. All three properties were around…

    Exploring Ham House and Garden

    A few weekends ago we used our National Trust membership to explore Ham House with the kids and dog. We love our National Trust membership, it encourages us to get out and about and explore new parts of the country. Ham House has been on our wish list for a while and we were excited to visit. Exploring Ham House and Garden Ham House is a rare and atmospheric 17th-century house on the River Thames in Richmond, near London. There’s a large, free car park by the river, and a short walk brings you to the front of Ham House.…
