    Gummy Bear Coconut Water Ice Lollies

    The weather has been pretty poor over the school holidays but we’ve had a ew nice days here and there. With the weather forecasting good weather we had a go at making some ice lollies in some little moulds I bought at Flying Tiger. The recipe was simple but it was something the kids could do and enjoy. You can make any kind of homemade lollies but I wanted them to be eye catching so used cute little gummy bears! Our Sylvanian Families Busy Box

    A while ago we made our Lego mad son a Lego Busy Box to keep him busy on car journeys. It’s been really successful and gone everywhere with us, but his younger sister wanted her own version. Now she’s not quite as obsessed with Lego as he is so instead we made her a Sylvanian Families Busy Box. It’s no secret that my 5 year old is Sylvanian Families obsessed. She spends all her pocket money on the toys and all her time making little videos of her playsets. She really loves the babies so her Sylvanian Families Busy Box…

    Back to School with Duck Tape {giveaway}

    Yesterday was spent buying school shoes and this morning I was stitching on name labels. I even ordered the hot dinners for my daughter who is going into Year 1. I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself as I hate having to rush around and do everything last minute. Being prepared means we can spend the last few weeks of the holiday at the park with friends and crafting. My son is starting Year 3 and he’s been seriously excited about his stationery list! If you’re looking for some fun Back to School crafts then you may want to stock up…

    How to make Putty {A-Z Play at Home}

    Last week for the A-Z Play at Home weekly blog hop we had so much fun making SLIME! The kids just love getting their hands dirty so we quickly made a bath of Putty too. It’s not just fun, there’s some science in there too! Ingredients to make Putty: 24 oz flour (2 cups) 5 eggs 9oz PVA craft glue (3/4 cup) 3 tbsp water food colouring (optional) We made a video about our experiences of making putty. It took a while for the putty to come together but it was worth it! Basically, you mix the flour in a…

    Back to School kid-made photo frame

    I’m one of those mums who loves to mark every occasion. Cards, special breakfasts, lots of photos – anything goes! I’m happy to make a big deal of first days, last days, exams and everything else. The summer holidays have passed way too quickly and I can’t believe we’re getting ready to go back to school. This term we thought we’d start the first day of term with something a little different, and have been crafting a Back to School photo frame. To create our Back To School photo frame we used: A4 coloured card Bostik Foam Pads Alphabet letters Stickers…

    Sycamore seed faces

    The signs of Autumn have been around for a while – conkers growing, blackberries and shorter evenings. I love Autumn so I’m pretty happy to embrace it all. I noticed lots of sycamore seeds around the park so picked some up incase we could craft with them. We actually came up with something very simple – sycamore seed faces! We used sycamore seeds and card face blanks from Baker Ross (although you could easily draw your own faces). We also used a glue stick, some coloured card and wool. First my daughter glued the sycamore seed on where she thought it…

You may be wondering where the letter O comes in. Well we used Optical Lens Solution! Just in case the internet needs another slime recipe, here is ours. Mollie Makes Custard Cream Keyring Kit

    Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. Mollie Makes Custard Cream Keyring Kit Issue 82 contained the Mollie Makes Custard Cream Keyring Kit designed by Nikki McWilliams. The little kit contained 15cm square if printed cotton fabric, soft toy stuffing, a needle, thread and keyring. I love Nikki McWilliams and even went on one of her…

    How to make a potato clock {A-Z Play at Home}

    Something a little different from us today. For the past few weeks we’ve been taking part in the weekly A-Z Play at Home blog hop. Each week we are inspired by a different letter of the alphabet – today is the letter N. It took us a while to think of anything starting with this letter but eventually we decided upon Nails! We used nails and potatoes to show the amazing power of potatoes! Read on to find out how we did it. To make a potato clock you will need: 2 large potatoes 2 large galvanised nails 2 lengths…
