The summer holidays have started for us! We have so many plans of things we want to do over the summer months. We’re looking forward to sharing some of the crafts and activities we get up to. We thought we’d start with our DIY braided friendship bracelet tutorial because it’s such a fun activity for tweens and teens. I loved making them when I was younger and was excited to share them with my daughter. First of all you will need to gather supplies. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we’ve been enjoying all kinds of Valentine themed arts and crafts this year. I like to come up with different things to keep my kids busy and active and now they are a little older they enjoy STEM learning. Our STEM Valentine tangram for kids is a great STEM learning tool which helps build important STEM skills. STEM Valentine tangram for kids What is a tangram? A few weeks ago my children’s school set them a fun challenge – to make a book sign post to decorate the school grounds. Both my children love to read and wanted to take part. They usually feature travel destinations but there’s no reason why they can’t be adapted for literary destinations or titles too. My children were asked to decorate their book signs with the titles and…

My tween is enjoying keeping in touch with friends whilst we are at home. We’ve always been pretty strict about screen time but we’ve had to be a lot more relaxed about that since he is unable to go to school. He already had a tablet and phone but we’ve also set him up with a computer so he can access his home learning in his bedroom. All this tech means he has a lot of cables in his room. In a bid to keep it all tidy we had fun making a fabric cord cover. He enjoys sewing and…

We love pumpkins! We have a whole display of them, thanks to our recent pumpkin patch visit. A few years ago we decorated our pumpkins without carving them. Instead of traditional carving we used washi tape and googly eyes and it was FUN! This year we wanted to try something a little different using the Cricut Maker. This simple cutting machine has really changed the way we craft at home! Pumpkin decoration supplies: Cricut Maker Cricut vinyl Cricut Standard Grip Mat Cricut Transfer Tape Cricut Weeder and Scraper Polar Bear Pumpkin (picked at the Pop Up Farm) Cute and easy pumpkin…
