Whether it is basic invite wedding save-the-dates or wedding invitations, the images you choose should represent a deeper meaning of the relation you have with your spouse and the theme of the event in question. Yesterday I took my annual trip to the Alexandra Palace Knitting & Stitching Show. This is a huge craft show that takes over much of Ally Pally, one of my favourite buildings. It’s a great venue with plenty of space for the textile exhibition, stands and workshops. The main entrance hall featured the work of The Subversive Stitcher and the Subverted Vintage Tea Towel series, featuring vintage tea towels with her subverted message stitched on each one. They made for a great display, even if some of the ‘offensive’ ones had been removed for the more sensitive visitors. This year…

So we are over half way through the year and the long evenings make me reach for my sewing. I love seasonal crafting and have been picking out some new projects to make. Have you heard of Sewing Street? They kindly sent me their brand new hanging plants embroidery kit to try out. Featuring a pre-printed panel with four designs, I chose the one I wanted to stitch. It came with a booklet full of stitches so you can choose the stitches you use to embroider over the pattern. It’s such a lovely idea and has been a real joy…

August felt like such a busy month with the kids on their school summer holidays. We were away a lot but I packed my Liberty Tumbling Blocks which was the perfect size for whipping out when I had five minutes. I made up a lot of blocks and have stitched them into strips to add to the bottom. I love watching it come together. During our family trip to Normandy we were able to go and view the Bayeux Tapestry which had been on my bucket list for ages. Although it was busy we were able to get close to…

My tween had the great idea of making a keepsake for her bedroom using some of her favourite small items. We found wooden fillable letters and purchased resin to fill the letter with her favourite items and make a really personalised item for her room. We’ve used a wooden fillable letter before, they are a large wooden shape made from thin wood which can be filled with anything, such as the sea glass one we previously made. We used: Wooden fillable letters from Hobbycraft Clear Epoxy Resin Starter kit x 2 (from Amazon) Glue gun Plastic tray Selection of lego…

It’s the end of July already! This was a busy month for us with the kids breaking up from school and lots of meet ups with family and friends. Nonetheless I managed to find time to make some fun projects. What I made in July 2024 I stitched one embroidery hoops, the very cute Cotton Clara x Donna Wilson cat face embroidery which I couldn’t resist. There was another Cotton Clara kit, to make a cross stitch bookmark featuring mugs. I’ve finished the stitching and just need to finish adding the backing to the bookmark. I added a few more…
